Jane Shersher, MSW, Founder
Jane graduated from the premier occupational therapy program in the country and transitioned into medical social work shortly thereafter to Loyola University Chicago, where she received her master of social work degree with a concentration in health, children, and families. Jane has served in leadership roles for schools, rehabilitation centers, inpatient hospitals, social service agencies, outpatient psychology clinics, insurance companies, nursing homes, and recreational centers. Jane has sat on several board panels throughout Massachusetts and Illinois. She has offered support to individuals facing poverty, mental illness, homelessness, abuse, addiction, crisis, injury, disability, death, refugee status, and more. Jane has worked with clients of all ages in various environments and prefers to tie in creativity and health in her support services. Jane co-founded an internationally based non profit run entirely by teenagers at the age of 15 and is fluent in Russian. She created the CA community because of her conviction that young professionals will be unable to sustainably, responsibly, and effectively support individuals in need without addressing their own personal and professional needs first.
Sasha Parker, LSW, Clinical Operations Consultant
Sasha Pereverzev serves as Counselor at the Memory Centers of America, where she offers therapy and program management for senior patients facing memory loss. On her spare time, Sasha additionally serves as a social worker for Thorek Hospital. She graduated with a Masters from Loyola University Chicago’s Graduate School of Social Work, concentrating in Health and Child and Family Services. Sasha was a medical social work intern at Evanston Hospital, a branch of the NorthShore University Health System, where she provided patients with emotional support, community resources, and assisted with discharge planning. Sasha recognizes that burnout has become a significant concern in her field. She therefore helps to design academically challenging, fun, and innovative programming that encourages members to get support in their communities and grow professionally. Sasha helps to regulate the online forum, manage community programs and events, contributes to business related decisions, and makes sure that CA stays true to its mission. Sasha is also fluent in Russian.
Iris Ravid, Health Program Manager
Iris Ravid is currently pursuing a career as a physician assistant and is working as a gastroenterology technician at Northwestern Medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Santa Barbara with a major in Psychology. Iris additionally serves as the labor satisfaction representative for the gastroenterology clinic at Northwestern. While working in the health field, she has witnessed the prevalence of burnout amongst employees and is eager to apply her experience with CA toward reducing the effects of burnout. As a Health Program Manager for CA, Iris helps to plan and execute events that combine burnout reduction with physical health and mental health programming throughout the community. She assists in the coordination of leadership meetings and public relations projects as she helps to head Wellness Programs for CA. During her free time, Iris volunteers at a community health center where she helps with the intake of patients who live under the poverty line. Iris has also volunteered for Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency medicine program. Iris is fluent in Hebrew.

Yuriy Sheffer,
Technology Development Specialist & Operations Manager
Yuriy Shefer received his bachelors of arts in accounting from DePaul University and serves as an international tax analyst at Career Builder. In his past, Yuri acted as staff accountant at Kelssler Orlean Silver as well as performing state and local tax work at Grant Thornton LLP’s Chicago Office. Yuriy is passionate about the intersection between technology startups and business development. He helped to build much of our current website and has been an integral part in establishing CA’s business model and execution of services. In his spare time, Yuriy distributes meals to local individuals facing poverty and is devoted to learning iOS development systems from scratch. When he’s not heading up his own adventure club for community sports, Yuriy helps CA to regulate its resources regarding technology, budgets, business models, and marketing. Yuriy is fluent in Russian.
Diana Glozman, Marketing & Operations Manager
Diana Glozman is currently teaching English in Japan. In her recent past, she served in operations and marketing management roles for the startups Scratch Goods and Tourhop.com, alongside her work for CA in Chicago. Diana has a Bachelor’s of Science from Indiana University Kelley School of Business where she majored in Operations Decisions Technology. Diana’s career has taken her across the spectrum of industries and throughout the globe. Her past work experiences include working as a Merchant Assistant at Sears Holding as well as assisting the launch of Kenmore Bakeware. She also worked with Discover Financial Services in the Marketing Leadership Program before departing to South Korea where she taught English to high ranking businessmen and assisted students with presentations, interviews, and public speaking skills. Upon arrival back to the U.S., Diana rebranded a boutique brokerage firm and assisted with operation development. With experience in a full gamut of positions and industries, Diana brings her knowledge and experience to shaping the internal operations and administrative processes of CA. Diana helps to run the back-end organizational process of community events, secure potential financial supports, and organize the internal operations of CA’s many office needs. Diana is additionally fluent in Russian.
Susan Carroll, Community Development Specialist
Susan Carroll graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with her Master’s Degree in Social Work. She currently works as a social worker supporting battered women and children in DCFS cases for Crown Counseling Services. In her spare time, Susan volunteers at Jesse Brown Veteran’s Hospital and also supports the Disaster Relief service as a volunteer for the Red Cross. Susan has served in the Peace Corps in Kazakhstan where she taught English for two years and learned conversational Russian. Susan enjoys traveling and meeting new people from different cultures. She is passionate about Counselors Autonomous because she believes that helping mental health professionals is just as important as helping the clients that they work with. Susie helps to support the online forum by supplementing communication flow and resource development. She also assists in community event implementation.
Chad Gaynier, Data Manager
Chad Gaynier comes from a mixed background, with a bachelors degree in psychology and a master of business administration from Eastern Michigan University. He is currently pursuing a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling at the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Chad has worked in various roles including event coordination, process development, employee supervision and training at Ypsilanti Area Jaycees and Chicago One Brick. He currently serves as an individual mental health counselor and a milieu therapy counselor at Ecker Center. His work with CA is focused on business and research development, combining his passion for mental health stigma reduction and innovative systems development.
Nikki Lipschultz, Occuaptional Therapy Conslutant
Nikki Lipschultz is an occupational therapist at the rehabilitation department at Whitehall of Deerfield. She earned her BA in Spanish at North Park University, and her MS in Occupational Therapy at Rush University. While studying at Rush University, Nikki spent three months at Mount Sinai Medical Center, working under an occupational therapist in the inpatient psychiatric department and in adult and pediatric acute care. She also completed an internship at the adult inpatient rehabilitation unit at Rush University Medical Center. Throughout her work as an OT, Nikki has developed an interest in promoting wellness and healthcare in order to prevent rather than react to sickness and dysfunction. Nikki's focus with CA is based on building programs that are holistic and wellness-based, where optimization of health, functioning, and occupational performance (by implementing the Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) Model of care), is addressed for employees, their work place environments, and components of their occupations in order to promote higher functioning, health, and wellness.

Hugh O’Donnell has been Professor of Painting at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts since 1996. He is an internationally recognized artist, exhibiting regularly since 1975 with one-person and group shows. Public venues have included the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (NY), the Metropolitan Museum (NY), the Museum of Modern Art (NY), the Museum of Contemporary Art (CA), the Polk Museum of Art (FL), the National Gallery of Australia, the Royal Academy (UK), and the Museum of Modern Art (Japan). Professor O’Donnell’s exhibitions of work have been extensively reviewed internationally in publications including Art News, the New York Times, Art in America, Modern Painters, and Time magazine. He has received many awards and commissions for painting, digital art, dance set and costume designs, and book design. Professor O’Donnell’s role in CA’s work will include contract projects where he will offer consultation services regarding the interior re-design of the typical workspace or healthcare environment to include the interaction between human psyche, healthcare needs, and productivity. His recent site-specific commissions include: Data Command and Farsight, two large-scale, site-specific, digital artworks for the Sensors and Electronic Devices Directorate division at the U.S. Army Research Laboratories in Adelphi, MD., First Light, an illuminated digital mural print installation located at the Photonics Center at Boston University, Circle of Life, ten site-specific mural digital artworks at the New York University Medical Center Cardiovascular Unit, To Tell the Crooked Rose, a painting for the AOL Time Warner Center in New York City.

Her research interests include domestic violence and cross-cultural counseling. She currently teaches Family Intervention and Assessment, Race, Ethnicity, and Culture, Methods of Social Work Research, Cultural Diversity, Issues in the Treatment of Women, Social Work Practice with Individuals & Families II, and Advanced Social Work Practice with Groups at Loyola University Chicago Graduate School of Social Work. Her professional and community affiliations include cross-cultural counseling issues and domestic violence at Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Freire is instrumental in refining the accuracy and clinical relevance of the assessment tools that CA depends on in order to build targeted and therefore customized programming withing the workspace. Her role ensures that CA’s research objectives and execution are on task, accurate, and effective. Dr. Freire has lived in Puerto Rico and Mexico, and is fluent in Spanish.

Ahmed Khan, Director of Market Analysis
Ahmed Khan is currently an analyst at Collegiseducation in the analytics group. He has successfully built student retention, attrition and educational scoring models using linear, logistic and GLM regression analysis. Before Collegiseducation, Ahmed served as a senior analyst at Hewitt EnnisKnupp in the investment research department, where he assisted in analyzing client investment portfolios using active risk model, style analysis, spending models, and efficient frontier models. Ahmed studied at Depaul and Northwesten University. He helps CA to analyze and apply data collected from assessments and programming toward future service goals. Ahmed is fluent in Urdu.
Lev Slavin, Financial Development Team Leader

She secured her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and offered counseling services at Mary & Tom Leo Associates, Inc. Jorie worked closely with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and eventually began serving as Employment Specialist at Jewish Vocational Services under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Jorie is a Career Counselor with the Career Moves department at JVS and serves as a Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in her spare time online. Jorie holds a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification, from The Center for Credentialing & Education, the National Career Development Association, and the National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee. Jorie helps CA members to secure employment and assists the CA development team to retrieve occupational statistics regarding how shifts in funding structures have effected job development within the field of mental health and social service.

Kaitlyn Stancy, Graphic Design Specialist
Kaitlyn Stancy is a junior multimedia designer and fine arts student expecting to graduate at Indiana University Northwest (IUN) in June of 2015. While she enjoys working with many different mediums of art, her primary focuses include print, web design, photography, and silkscreen printmaking. Kaitlyn is interested in social media marketing and advertising; corporate identity, logo, and package design. Kaitlyn served as a junior graphic designer with a media solutions company in Chicago called AnswersMedia, Inc. and is also a member of the American Institute for Graphic Arts (AIGA) Chicago IUN student design group entitled, Grant Street Collective. Kaitlyn helps CA to design marketing media and promotional materials. She will also consult during the construction of our final website re-design.
Joanne Flome, Director of Supervisory & Mentorship Services
Joanne founded Mind & Body Balance, LLC where she provides therapy to individuals and couples with issues related to grief, loss, identity, transitions, depression, anxiety and relationships as well as individual and group clinical supervision for counseling professionals. Joanne additionally offers therapy services at the Cathedral Counseling Center. She previously has served as faculty at Concordia University, Joliet Junior College, and adjunct faculty as well as the Student Services Internship Coordinator at Loyola University Chicago’s Graduate School of Social Work, where she supervised field liaisons, graduate interns, and field supervisors after placing students in internship sites. In this role, Joanne organized a variety of in–service training opportunities for field instructors, assessed graduate level students’ readiness and performance in field work and academics, processed students’ concerns and successes regarding individual educational plans, addressed students’ performance issues related to internships and academics, facilitated and presented professional development events for over 230 students, recruited new and nurtured on-going field sites to promote optimal learning for students, collaborated with faculty and the Deans regarding academic and student matters, evaluated policies for field work, and developed educational seminars focused on the integration of theory and practice, cultural competence, and professionalism. Prior to Loyola, Joanne was an Early Interventionist at the Services of Will County, Adoption Preservation Counselor at Metropolitan Family Services, and served as an intern at Hospice of Integrated Health Services. Joanne was additionally a Dance Instructor at Girls in the Game and a board member at the Multiple Sclerosis Association. Joanne received her Master of Arts from the University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration with specializations in Clinical and Family Support. She helps CA to recruit, manage, and maintain relationships with supervisors and mentors, and ensures that the work of CA is clinically sound. Joanne is responsible for pairing members with appropriate supervisor or mentorship matches.
David Mittelman, Technology Director
David Mittelman has been actively involved in high-tech companies since 2008. He has worked with successful companies from start-up to thriving on-going ventures including home automation firms, new media companies, defense contractors, and government agencies. David’s experience spans from hardware and software development to project management, with a keen understanding of how technology impacts today’s business. David has worked on various projects in the roles of Software Engineer and Control Systems Engineer. His in-depth knowledge of the engineering process allows him to understand the entire problem space, its issues and hurdles between now and the end goal, and to drill down to individual issues involved with reaching project goals. David currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer at the California-based startup Asset Avenue. In his past, he held a Software Engineer position at Maker Studios Inc. In the past, David served as a software Engineer at Savant Systems, a Control System Engineer at LBI, Inc, a Research Associate at the NASA Flight Robotics Laboratory, a Researcher at REU ERWN Notre Dame, a Technology Director at eCamp Israel, and has served as a Submarine Sonar Technician for the Unites States Navy. For CA, David is responsible for assembling and managing the technology team. He finds necessary talent and consults with CA’s business development team accordingly regarding program development. Allison Mendoza, Health Program Manager
Allison Vela-Mendoza graduated from Kenyon College and received her bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology. She currently works as a Gastroenterology Procedure Technician at Northwestern Hospital. In the near future, she hopes to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. Because of her educational background and career pursuits, Allison serves as a health programmer for CA where she runs events regarding health and mental health programming for burnout prevention. Allison is additionally fluent in Spanish.

Blossfeld Design is unique in that the firm not only provides a range of interior design services, but also designs custom furniture and accessories. These pieces are conceptualized and created to respond to each client’s unique requirements. Blossfeld Design can design any type of product ranging from furniture to lighting to a variety of accessories including textiles, bedding and rugs. The company’s goal is to create an environment of collaboration with their clients in order to create individualized designs that reflect the needs of each unique project. Ann’s background is as diverse as her company. She has managed projects such as corporate office interiors, executive offices, product showrooms, trade shows, single family residences, and high rise condominiums. Her recent work includes an award winning condominium and residential interior, featured in “Architectural Digest”. Ann’s past experience includes studying architecture in Europe, working for a high-end European furniture company and Herman Miller Inc, from sales, interior design, to project management. Ann holds a Masters of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in interior design. She and her sister Maureen will serve as consultants to help CA offer services for workspace and healthcare settings, as Maureen specializes in hospital design.

Dr. Shiryln Garret, Director of Research & Development
Shirlyn has spent 10 years in director roles at the Department of Children and Family services. She currently teaches at the Adler School of Professional Psychology and has designed her dissertation on compassion fatigue amongst clinicians. Dr. Garret will be the main professional to structure the assessment tools that CA will utilize within clinics for its research on detecting burnout and turnover rates within the workplace. She will be collaborating with the design rehab team as well as with the program development team to implement the core programming for CA’s work. Dr. Garret is currently an adjunct professor at the Adler School of Professional Psychology.
Bill Sacco, Senior Media Manager
Bill Sacco has collaborated with CA in order to produce CA's introductory video. Bill has over 20 years of experience working in film and broadcast television. He has edited and shot programming for American Medical Television, Lions Club International, Discovery Channel and the Oprah Winfrey Show. He now runs his own company MotionEmotion Pictures providing video services for the greater Chicago area and is active in independent film production. In his spare time, Bill teaches inner city youth how to organize and film documentary projects for an empowerment-based non profit.
